How to check your HDFC credit card application status

Method 1: The official “Track your Credit Card” page (no login)

  1. Open HDFC Bank’s Track your Credit Card page.
  2. Enter your mobile number (the one used in the application).
  3. Enter any one of the following:
    • Application Reference Number or
    • Application Form Number or
    • Date of Birth
  4. Submit to see your current status. HDFC Bank

Tip: If you applied recently and don’t see a result, wait a day and try again—the tracker updates as your file moves through checks.

Method 2: WhatsApp ChatBanking (quick & handy)

  1. Save HDFC Bank’s verified WhatsApp number: 70700 22222.
  2. Send “Hi” and complete the quick registration (OTP to your registered mobile).
  3. Type “credit card application status” or pick Credit Card → Application Tracking from the menu.
    You’ll get the same live status the web tracker shows, right inside WhatsApp.

Method 3: Call PhoneBanking (for detailed help)

Call HDFC Bank’s 24×7 credit-card helplines (from your registered number if possible):

  • 1800 1600 or 1800 2600 (toll-free, India)
    Have your application/reference number, DOB, and mobile handy.

Method 4: Visit a branch

Carry a photo ID and, if you have it, your application reference number. A representative can check the backend status for you. (HDFC also notes you’ll get SMS updates once the card is dispatched.)


What the status messages usually mean

  • In Process / In Progress – Your application is under review and verification is ongoing.
  • Approved / E-Approved – Approved in principle; final human/operational checks happen next before dispatch.
  • Dispatched – Card has been handed to the courier; you may receive an SMS with the airway bill/tracking number.
  • On Hold / Requires Documents – Bank needs more information or documents; respond as guided.
  • Rejected / Disapproved – Application didn’t meet criteria right now; you can ask support for permissible next steps or reapply later. (General industry guidance.)

Quick troubleshooting (common hiccups)

  • “No records found”: Re-check the mobile number used in your application and try with DOB instead of the reference number, or vice-versa. If it still fails, call PhoneBanking.
  • Lost your reference number? The tracker also works with mobile + DOB.
  • Approved but no SMS/email: Status may still show “In Process” for a short time even after back-end approval. Check again later or call support to confirm dispatch details.
